Low fat diets ? Or low carbohydrate diets? Most ofte I'm asked this question from my patients.... what's better out of these? Well my answer for the same is
According to me , a persons body needs all the nutrients in a balanced manner, and there is no particular ingredient/diet which is helpful or suitable for everyone or common to all . Thus, It is safe to state that Diets vary with different people.
However, what's important is how do u balance the weight loss and maintain it in the long run, for that we should always follow something we can continue and inculcate as a lifestyle.
Intermittently we do put the patient on different forms of diet but it's never for a long periods of time.
Both Carbohydrates and Fats have their own function in the body and play vital roles in giving us energy and nutrition. Therefore, we should wisely choose the right carbohydrate and the perfect Fat to add to out diet. As far as Faths are concerned, we should include healthy Fats such as MUFA, Omega 3, mustard oil , peanuts, almonds, peacans and macadamias. Similarly, we should consider consuming good Carbohydrates that get absorbed slowly into our biological systems that reduces the risk of sudden spike in our blood sugar levels, such as whole grains, Vegitables , fruits and beans.
